Manuscript on paper, in multiple hands, containing about 31 notes on sermons, 21 poems on religious, amorous, or satirical subjects, and the first two acts of a comic play. The sermons are extracted from "Mr. Mallary" and "Dr. Owen," among others, and concern such subjects as suffering, iniquity, and the soul. The verses in the manuscript include a satirical poem titled Animadversions, dated Aug 9, 1682; a religious poem titled A Christian's Character based on an extract from the Book of Matthew; and a poem on sleep titled A Dream. The volume also contains several pages of shorthand and cipher.
